Get “Other” Answers with Multiple Choice Questions

With multiple choice questions, you define what answers should be shown and the participant can choose from one (or more) of those answers. Most of the time this is fine, however, sometimes the answer the participant wants to give is not available.

It is in these cases that it would be great to have the ability for the participant to simply type an “other” answer from the available options. Well, starting today, we are happy to announce that this feature is available to use!

Simply check the “Other” option in question settings to add the text box. Any answers typed here by the participant will then appear in your results!

Adding an “Other” option to the Multiple Choice questions has been a very popular feature request and we are really happy to finally be able to offer it to you. As always, we welcome any feedback you may have:

Share your Online Survey Report

We are happy to announce that you can now share your online survey reports! For every survey in your account you will now be able to get a private unique link that you will be able to share with anybody you want. The best part is, they do not need to have a SurveyHero account to view the link!

You can even customize the report link to only show specific questions instead of all. More information about it can be found here: Share Survey Results

We think this is a great addition to the tool and that it will really help you easily share your survey report data with the people who need to see it!

New Chart Type: Word Cloud

Using open ended questions like the Text Field and Text Area are a great way for you to collect detailed responses. Closed question types will only tell you that X number of people selected answer A, whereas open question types will allow participants to write out an answer in their own words.

You will find the Word Cloud chart is now available in your report. This chart has been designed to pick out the most common words from your responses and display them in a word cloud diagram, where the more common the word the larger the text.

Since the responses will contain words written directly from the participant, some answers will contain completely different adjectives, verbs and nouns. The Word Cloud will filter out punctuation and unnecessary words (like a, it, the, etc.) to only display useful words.

We are always looking for new fun ways to display your response data and hope you like this addition to the report charts. You can change chart types in your report starting from the Professional Plan.

With a wide range of chart types to choose from you can already create amazing looking reports and today we are happy to announce another great feature has been added that will take your survey reports to the next level!

You now have the ability to customize the colors of your report charts. It is a great way to incorporate your company colors or use colors that are related to the survey’s content.

Create Complex Online Surveys with Skip Logic

We have just launched a very popular feature that many of you have been asking for. Skip Logic gives you the ability to skip certain pages based on what participants have previously answered.

Your survey should be as easy to complete as possible. Too many pages with questions that don’t relate to the participant can lead to more drop offs and incomplete results. With Skip Logic, if somebody already answers that they like cats, then you can skip the page asking them why they do not like cats and go directly to the next section.

This feature is available starting from the Business Plan and opens up many new ways that you can structure your survey. We are really looking forward to seeing in what ways you use it.

Redirect your Participants on Survey Completion

Today we are happy to announce that Survey Redirection is now available! By default, your participants will land on a SurveyHero landing page after survey completion, however, now you can redirect your online survey participants to any website you choose after they complete the survey.

This feature is available starting from the Business Plan and can be a very useful way to get your online survey participants back onto your website.

New Question Type: Date

If you want to allow your participants to enter a date in your online survey, then the new “Date” question type is going to make your life a lot easier!

You could use a “Textfield” question to get dates, however, the problem here is that any value could be submitted and even if your participants entered a date, you would end up with many different formats in your survey results.

The “Date” question allows users to select a date from an actual calendar, giving you a consistent format in your results!

We hope you like this new feature. As always, we welcome any feedback you may have:

Customize your Survey Link!

Great news! Now you can customize your survey link. This means instead of seeing something that looks like the default link:

https://surveyhero.com/c/2d16188

You can change it to look like this:

https://surveyhero.com/c/customer-satisfaction

This feature is available starting from the Professional Plan and can be very useful if you want to send out a link with a more personal touch.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well… we have just launched the ability to add images to your survey!

Add an image to further explain or expand on a question, add your company logo to get a more branded look or simply just add an image to make your survey stand out more! We really look forward to seeing this feature bring your surveys to life!
